Pakistan has offered Islamabad as the venue for the next round of talks between the United States and Iran, officials say, following an initial meeting that ended without a breakthrough.
Despite key disagreements over Iran’s nuclear programme and economic sanctions, both sides signaled willingness to continue discussions. Pakistan is positioning itself as a neutral facilitator, aiming to keep diplomatic channels open and reduce regional tensions.
The first round of talks was described as constructive, even though no concrete agreement was reached. Officials suggest that another meeting could take place soon, depending on logistical arrangements and mutual consent.
Islamabad’s strategic location and balanced relations with global and regional powers make it a suitable choice for sensitive negotiations.
